At All Elite Wrestling’s All Out PPV Event, The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson) took on the AAA World Tag Team Champions The Lucha Brothers (Pentagon Jr. and Rey Fenix) in a Ladder Match (A.K.A. Escalera De la Muerte) with the AAA World Tag Team Titles on the line.
The match saw several barbaric and viscous spots, which could have seriously injured both The Young Bucks and/or The Lucha Brothers. Bleacher Report recently interviewed The Young Bucks, where they talked about and admitted that they probably went too far in their match against The Lucha Brothers at All Out.
This is what The Young Bucks said:
“We probably almost went too far. There was a point where I almost died when the ladder was tossed and I clipped the top rope with my feet and went through the table. And one minute later, Matt landed awkwardly on his side when Penta pushed the ladder. Those two things weren’t supposed to go down that way, but when they did go completely wrong, that’s when I was thinking ‘I hope fans are not thinking this is too much.’”
“…I think it was my idea to end the feud with a ladder match. We just didn’t know what we were going to name it at the time. (AEW owner) Tony (Khan) loved the idea to do a ladder match at the end. We knew if we had a ladder match with these guys it would be nuts because we’ve had ladder matches before but we’d never had a ladder match with two of the craziest wrestlers in the business today. We knew if we got them in a ladder match, it would probably make history. And here we are now.”
As seen in The Young Bucks’ statement above, AEW President and CEO Tony Khan loved the idea of The Ladder Match being the final match to end the feud between them and The Lucha Brothers, but the issue is that all four of them crossed the line on too many occasions in the match.
As previously reported, AEW will be having a PG-14 rating on their weekly show on TNT, which means that we will probably not see anything close to what we saw during The Ladder Match at All Out when Dynamite premieres this coming Wednesday night.
