1. Anderson Silva vs. Chael Sonnen 1 – UFC 117

Silva had a pretty impressive run leading up to this fight, maintaining the middleweight title for six times. It was hard to believe that Silva would ever be defeated – but wait, could this 2010 fight be when Silva relinquished his title? It seemed that there was a match for Silva, and it was in the form of Chael Sonnen who took him down. In the final few moments, Silva managed to rise from the ground and win with a comeback of epic proportions.

2. Zhang Weili vs. Joanna Jedrzejczyk – UFC 248

There’s some pretty epic talent in women’s MMA, so you’d be a fool to miss this fantastic match from March 2020. The first round even managed to last for a massive 25 minutes, which gives you an indication of just how much back and forth happened here. Zhang ended up taking home the win, but it wasn’t until after an exciting fight where nobody really knew who would win until the last second. If you’re looking for constant action and intrigue, it’s worthwhile to watch this particular fight.

3. Connor McGregor vs. Eddie Alvarez – UFC 205

Connor McGregor is one of the biggest names in the UFC, and this November 2016 fight is some of his best work. Unfortunately for Alvarez he didn’t stand a chance against McGregor, and McGregor finished the fight picking up his second title. McGregor is a popular fighter and it’s not difficult to see why after witnessing this fight that brought him his current fame. It’s not a fight that you want to miss.

4. Robbie Lawler vs. Rory MacDonald – UFC 189

This match from 2015 held a lot of stakes for Lawler who was working to retain his welterweight title. It was a match full of uncertainties, featuring a bloody damaged nose for MacDonald. Despite this, he soldiered on for the rest of the fight and eventually ended up with a satisfying victory where he ended up hurting Lawler quite badly by kicking him in the head. It must have been quite the disappointment for Lawler who lost his title in the match.

5. Diego Sanchez vs. Nick Diaz – TUF 2 Finale

This match between Diego Sanchez and Nick Diaz was truly one to behold in November 2005. Though this is an old match, it’s definitely one worth revisiting. There were many intense moments, including scrambles, transitions and more. Sanchez’s win at the end was one that was well deserved after an intense fight full of all sorts of twists and turns. It’s no wonder that this fight went down in UFC history.
