Celebrity Guest Stars in Wrestling

Wrestling is an entertainment form where sports, acting and drama is combined in an athletic exhibition. It involves matches where most of the happenings and outcome are planned before and features the wrestlers as established characters.

WrestleMania is a professional wrestling event that is produced by World Wrestling Entertainment. It features several matches and has been around since its first event in 1985. WWE owner Vince McMahon conceptualized the event while Howard Finkel devised the name “WrestleMania”. Finkel is likely the only one that knows the true origin and meaning of the name and could probably come up with 101 funny business names. The 37th edition took place in Tampa, Florida on April 10-11, 2021. Wrestling and its events are famous for having famous guest stars appearances.

All Eyes on Pamela Anderson

Actress, model, producer, author, activist and former showgirl Pamela Anderson first made an appearance in the 1995 World Wrestling Federation’s Royal Rumble. Here she promised to accompany the winner of the event to WrestleMania. She then returned on April 2nd for the WrestleMania XI as the guest valet. Her appearance on the different wrestling events is the origin of the many skits and commercial featuring wrestlers showing interest in the actress. Anderson made a grand appearance at the 2006 Canada’s Walk of Fame induction ceremony when she shared a kiss with Canadian wrestler Trish Stratus.

The Paul Brothers

YouTuber Logan Paul is known for his humoristic and scandalous videos on social media. Together with his brother Jake Paul, they have made videos, skits, vines, music and much more. Logan Paul himself appeared at WrestleMania 37, weeks before his brother is up for a fight with former MMA star Ben Askren. The latter have never boxed professionally but has undergone hard training to prepare for the fight.

Snoop Dogg in the Hall of Fame

American rapper Snoop Dogg is also a singer, songwriter, actor, record producer, media personality and businessman. Despite his busy life, he has made an appearance at three WrestleMania events, the XXIV, XXVII and 32nd edition. At his last appearance he helped debuted his cousin, wrestler Sasha Banks, when he debuted her theme song. Sadly, Banks lost but Snoop Dogg was rewarded with a spot in the WWE’s Hall of Fame. The rapper is the first singer in history to earn a place here, maybe because he is no stranger to the wrestling world after his many contributions to the events.

Wrestlers with celebrity salary

While the events have been visited by famous singers, actors and other athletes, the wrestlers themselves have reached celebrity status within the community. The entertainment form is highly popular, and the events are watched and loved by many. Not even the pandemic could stop the big wrestle mania event despite most other sporting event being cancelled the last year. The ten best and highest paid wrestlers earned a whopping $38.5 million before taxes in 2019, combined making them some of the highest paid athletes in the world.
