Backstage News On The Build To Roman Reigns vs. Jey Uso

Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns, who hasn’t been pinned or submitted since December of 2019 until earlier this month’s WWE Money in the Bank Premium Live Event from the 02 Arena in London, England in the main event during the Bloodline Civil War after The Tribal Chief was hit with a flurry of superkicks by The Usos and Jey Uso hit a huge splash from the top rope on The Head Of The Table to score the massive pinfall victory and be the first person to gain a pinfall victory over Roman Reigns in over 3 and a half years, was part of the Tribal Court: Trial of the Tribal Chief segment with Solo Sikoa, Paul Heyman and The Usos this past Friday night on SmackDown that lasted nearly 40 minutes.

The segment opened up SmackDown this past Friday night and that portion of the segment ended with The Usos going to a local medical facility due to Jimmy Uso being taken out by Solo Sikoa and The Head Of The Table. The segment would then continue in the final part of the show and ended with Jey Uso using a steel chair to lay waste to both Solo and Reigns before challenging The Tribal Chief to a match for his Undisputed WWE Universal Title, which is expected to take place at next month’s WWE SummerSlam.

Dave Meltzer noted on a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Radio Program that Jey Uso will most likely be getting his title match against “The Tribal Chief” Roman Reigns at next month’s SummerSlam, but the big focus for a long-term storyline is on Solo Sikoa and Jey Uso because the WWE is confident that the storyline between Jey Uso and “The Tribal Chief” Roman Reigns is hot enough to not put major focus on it and instead they should put their focus on Solo Sikoa vs. Jey Uso as that will be a match down the line that the WWE Universe will be looking forward to.
