Backstage Sparks Fly: WWE Raw Main Event Sparks Tension Among Talent

In what can only be described as a significant backstage drama, last night’s WWE Raw main event, a six-man tag team match, ignited a heated argument among the talent backstage. This unexpected feud was fueled by dissatisfaction and frustration over the final execution of the match, which featured The Judgment Day (Damian Priest, Dominik Mysterio, and Finn Balor) versus the WWE Undisputed Tag Team Champions Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn, and WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins.

The Judgment Day emerged victorious from the ring. However, the real fight ensued backstage after the final bell had tolled. According to multiple sources, the disagreement was intense and stemmed from the match being labeled as “clunky,” largely due to last-minute alterations to planned elements. The match’s underperformance saw one wrestler, who remains unnamed to avoid online uproar, taking the lion’s share of the blame.

Despite the heightened emotions, the argument did not escalate into a physical altercation, and eventually, tempers cooled. Yet, the dust hasn’t quite settled as many involved were left dissatisfied with the night’s events.

While it is unclear what specific incidents during the match sparked the backstage altercation, PWInsider highlighted a few potentially contentious moments. There was an awkward Blue Thunder Bomb attempt on Bálor and a visibly rough South of Heaven move that led to Finn pinning Sami. Another debatable moment was a flawed Sling Blade/forearm spot between Bálor & Rollins.

Interestingly, the six-man tag team match evolved from an originally planned Seth Rollins vs. Dominik Mysterio face-off, which morphed after The Judgment Day interfered during Rollins’ entrance. Owens & Zayn came to Rollins’ rescue, setting up the trios main event. Two sources indicate that the abrupt change in plans was to blame for the match’s flaws, while another source blames an unnamed talent for the controversy.

In a recent update, another WWE source informed Mike Johnson of PWInsider that the incident was merely a ‘difference of opinion’ that became heated due to last-minute changes in the main event plans.

This backstage drama serves as a potent reminder of the intense pressure and challenges faced by WWE talents, both in and out of the ring. Whether this incident will have further implications or be simply chalked up to a ‘bad night at the office’ remains to be seen.
