Bron Breakker & Kelani Jordan Secure Spots in Iron Survivor Challenge at NXT Deadline 2023

The road to NXT Deadline 2023 is heating up with the latest edition of WWE NXT from Orlando, FL, at the famed WWE Performance Center. As the NXT Universe witnessed another night of high-octane action, notable developments unfolded culminating in two wrestlers securing their coveted spots in the upcoming Iron Survivor Challenge matches.

Vic Joseph and WWE Hall of Famer Booker T provided their usual insightful commentary as the NXT Tag Team Champions, Tony D’Angelo & Stacks, triumphantly defended their titles against Humberto Carrillo & Angel Garza. Utilizing their signature Bada Boom Bada Bing maneuver, the champions ensured their reign continued with a decisive pinfall victory.

As the intense competition for spots in the unique Iron Survivor Challenge continued, the NXT faithful were treated to qualifiers teeming with athleticism and drama. In the women’s division, rising star Kelani Jordan triumphed over Kiana James, courtesy of an expertly executed Split-Legged Moonsault. The win, however, wasn’t without controversy, as a pivotal distraction by Roxanne Perez, who has unresolved issues with James, played a hand in the outcome. Perez’s bell ring confusion allowed Jordan to capitalize and secure her place in the Iron Survivor Challenge match at NXT Deadline.

The male superstars also battled for their chance to claim NXT supremacy, with former NXT Champion Bron Breakker overcoming the challenge of Eddy Thorpe. After a punishing exchange, Breakker caught Thorpe off-guard with a thunderous Spear to clinch his spot. The victory sets him on a collision course with competitors Josh Briggs, Trick Williams, and Dijak, with one more participant yet to be announced.

But the NXT arena wasn’t just about physical showdowns. Andre Chase, the charismatic founder of Chase University, faced the music in a press conference regarding the institution’s scandal. Addressing the accusations head-on, Chase disclosed that illegal gambling and misuse of funds had plagued the university, plunging it into debt and a criminal investigation. In a solemn moment, Chase accepted accountability and vowed to rectify the situation.

In high-stakes action, Wes Lee emerged victorious in a breathtaking Fatal Fourway match, outlasting former champions Bronson Reed, Johnny Gargano, and Cameron Grimes. A surprising interference by Ivar provided a chaotic element, leading to Lee capturing the win with a Kardiac Kick on Grimes. It earned Lee a title opportunity against NXT North American Champion Dominik Mysterio at NXT Deadline 2023.

With the event fast-approaching, the current card boasts a highly anticipated NXT Championship bout between Baron Corbin and reigning champion Ilja Dragunov. Lee’s triumph in securing his title match adds another layer of excitement to an already stacked lineup that also includes both Iron Survivor Challenge matches featuring the best of NXT’s men and women’s divisions.

The stage is set for NXT Deadline 2023 to be a defining moment in the careers of those involved, with the Iron Survivor Challenge matches promising to deliver a unique and thrilling spectacle for the fans. Stay tuned as we bring you more updates on this evolving storyline and the journey to one of NXT’s most awaited events of the year.
