Asserting that she might be his “Mami,” but he remains her “Papi”, Ripley invoked a rematch clause for Mysterio to reclaim his NXT North American title in Tuesday’s NXT showdown. She also threatened Mysterio with a stark ultimatum: successfully recapture the title or face the end of their relationship.
In addition to this riveting development, the WWE Fastlane 2023 event, happening on October 7th at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana, will witness a rousing Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship match. The match will see Jey Uso and Cody Rhodes go toe-to-toe with Judgement Day’s Damien Priest and Finn Balor. This clash follows a dispute between Judgement Day and Uso, resulting in an all-out brawl and an irate Adam Pearce announcing the tag title defense match-up for the upcoming Fastlane 2023 event.
However, an unfortunate turn of events led to the NXT Women’s Championship match between Tegan Nox and champion Becky Lynch being pulled from Monday’s RAW show due to Lynch’s arm injury. Wrestling news platform Fightful Select had earlier reported that Lynch was not medically cleared to compete due to a laceration in her arm from the NXT No Mercy event. WWE commentator Michael Cole confirmed the disappointing news during the RAW show. As a consolation, it was later announced that the match has been rescheduled for next week’s RAW show in Omaha, Nebraska.
In spite of this hiccup, the forthcoming WWE Fastlane 2023 event promises to be a compelling watch with an updated card that includes marquis matches like the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match between Shinsuke Nakamura and Seth Rollins, WWE Women’s Championship Triple Threat match, and several other high-stakes contests.
