MVP claims WWE repurposed Hurt Business concept for The Bloodline

One big thing: MVP suggests WWE reused The Hurt Business’ gimmick

MVP, former leader of The Hurt Business, recently implied on Instagram that WWE adapted their faction’s concept for The Bloodline.

• The Hurt Business, featuring Bobby Lashley, MVP, Cedric Alexander, and Shelton Benjamin, was a popular stable that disbanded in 2021.
• A fan commented that WWE “took your gimmick and crew and gave it to the bloodline,” to which MVP replied, “True story.”
• MVP also claimed that Triple H refused to bring back The Hurt Business.

Why it matters

The Hurt Business was a successful faction that elevated its members’ careers and gained a dedicated fan following. Their premature disbandment left many fans disappointed, and MVP’s claims suggest a potential missed opportunity for WWE.

By the numbers

• The Hurt Business was active from 2020 to 2021.
• During their run, the faction held multiple titles, including the WWE Championship and Raw Tag Team Championships.

What they’re saying

• MVP: “True story,” in response to the fan’s comment about WWE repurposing their gimmick.
Roman Reigns (previously): Felt that the faction was broken up too early.
Bobby Lashley (previously): Said the breakup “hurt his heart.

The bottom line

While it’s unclear if WWE intentionally adapted The Hurt Business’ concept for The Bloodline, MVP’s comments have reignited discussions about the popular faction’s potential and its premature end.
