Potential Spoiler On The Usos’ Status For The Elimination Chamber

The 2023 WWE Elimination Chamber Premium Live Event will take place this Saturday, February 18th from the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada and the show will air live on Peacock in the U.S. and the WWE Network everywhere else.

As of this writing, four matches have been made official for the WWE’s 2023 Elimination Chamber Event and those matches are Edge and Beth Phoenix facing The Judgment Day (Finn Bálor and Rhea Ripley) in a Mixed Tag Team Match, Asuka, Liv Morgan, Nikki Cross, Raquel Rodriguez, Natalya and Carmella battling each other in a Women’s Elimination Chamber Match, where the winner will earn a WWE RAW Women’s Title Match against WWE RAW Women’s Champion Bianca Belair at WrestleMania 39 and current WWE United States Champion Austin Theory will defend his WWE United States Title against Seth “Freakin” Rollins, Johnny Gargano, Bronson Reed, Damian Priest and Montez Ford in a Men’s Elimination Chamber Match. Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns will also be defending his Undisputed WWE Universal Title against former “Honorary Uce” Sami Zayn in the main event.

Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions The Usos (Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso) successfully defended their titles against Braun Strowman and Ricochet on WWE SmackDown this past Friday night, but Jimmy Uso was unable to get ahold of his brother for over two weeks and he wasn’t even sure if Jey would show up on Friday night’s SmackDown to help him defend their titles, however fortunately for The Usos and The Bloodline Jey Uso showed up at the last possible second. Despite this, there still seems to be a little tension between Jey and the rest of The Bloodline and what happened during a backstage segment between former “Honorary Uce” Sami Zayn and Jey Uso could have just added more problems for The Bloodline.

Zayn and Jey Uso had a backstage segment where they had a conversation with each other before doing a fist bump. Roman Reigns, who didn’t appear on last Friday’s episode of SmackDown, told Paul Heyman to tell Jimmy Uso that The Usos should stay at home this coming Friday for SmackDown or Saturday for the Elimination Chamber Event to get a different perspective by watching SmackDown on TV, so this implied that The Tribal Chief saw the backstage segment between Zayn and Jey Uso. The Usos being told to stay home and not appear on both WWE SmackDown and the Elimination Chamber Event was believed to have been done due to Jimmy Uso’s DUI history, which would result in him not being allowed to go to Montreal.

Dave Meltzer noted on a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Radio Program that he was told Jimmy Uso has been cleared to go to Canada and could be appearing at the Elimination Chamber Event with his brother Jey Uso.

This is what Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez said:

Bryan Alvarez: “I don’t think Jimmy can get into Canada, but maybe Jey is going to show up.”

Dave Meltzer: “I was told they’re okay.”

Bryan Alvarez: “Jimmy can too?”

Dave Meltzer: “I will check again, but when it first came up, I said like are they cleared for Canada? and I was told they’re both cleared.”

Bryan Alvarez: “Well, one way or another, they’re not supposed to be there.”

Dave Meltzer: “I don’t know if it’s a swerve, or a storyline.”

Bryan Alvarez: “Well, I’m sure they’re going to show up to set something up whatever they’re doing with Sami at WrestleMania and Kevin. I mean Kevin hasn’t been around so you know he’s going to show up to make a triumphant return to save Sami at the end. I guess it just depends on how they get to it.”

There are plans for Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens to challenge Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions The Usos for their Undisputed WWE Tag Team Titles at WrestleMania 39.
