Roman Reigns Not Happy With A Segment From WarGames Match

Roman Reigns was reportedly enraged by a specific spot during the WarGames match at Survivor Series, and WWE fans believe they have discovered what happened. According to Fightful Select, Reigns was enraged following the match because of what he perceived to be an unplanned spot involving Kevin Owens, which resulted in an ear injury (possibly a ruptured ear drum).

It wasn’t clear where the incident occurred at first, but a few fans on Twitter have since uploaded a specific clip in which Reigns and KO are trading strikes and one catches “The Tribal Chief” on the side of the head.

A few more reports on what happened have since surfaced online. On the most recent Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer stated,

The story is true in that Reigns became upset after being popped and had visible bruising under his left eye. There was talk of a possible broken eardrum, but nothing was confirmed. What is confirmed is that it resulted from a slap by Owens; Reigns was upset, but it all blew over 20 minutes later, so there is no lingering issue.

Meltzer’s sentiment was echoed by Reddit user u/kkerrmit125, who frequently posts backstage reports to the r/SquaredCircle subreddit. He also mentioned Triple H’s participation by writing about the entire situation.

It’s true that Reigns got heated after the Survivor Series. Triple H instructed them to discuss it in the locker room. There was some yelling, but nothing became physical. It’s also true that Owens will face Reigns at the Royal Rumble, but that’s now in doubt. Sheamus appears to be the most likely replacement.

Early this week, it was reported that Reigns vs. Owens for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship would take place at the Royal Rumble next January. This appears to be the continuation of the storyline with Sami Zayn, which will culminate in Owens and Zayn challenging The Usos for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships at WrestleMania 39.
