Survivor Series 2023: WWE’s WarGames Return, Gunther’s U.S Residency Restrictions, John Cena’s SAG-AFTRA Approval

On November 25th at Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois, WWE fans have an exciting event to look forward to. WWE recently announced that the Survivor Series 2023 event will witness the return of the iconic WarGames match. The stakes are high this year, as it follows the main roster debut of WarGames at Survivor Series in the previous year.

Gunther, one of the promising talents in WWE who hails from Austria, has however hit a roadblock. In a recent interview with Krone, an Austrian based newspaper, he shared about his current inability to leave the United States because of a strict residency process that could take up to six months. Therefore, Gunther will only be able to work for WWE in the U.S. during this period.

While Gunther might face some restrictions, John Cena seems to be ahead in navigating through tough waters amid the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike. Cena is a WWE veteran known for juggling between wrestling and his Hollywood career. In a recent episode of the “WWE After The Bell with Corey Graves” podcast, Cena revealed how he managed to get a legal and written approval from the Screen Actors Guild to wrestle in WWE amidst the ongoing labor dispute. He further shared his thoughts about his commitment to WWE, hinting at his desire to participate in the future events while also mentoring the younger talents such as Austin Theory.

As we anticipate the return of WarGames, admire Gunther’s dedication to stay in the U.S., and applaud John Cena’s commitment to the WWE while also upholding the integrity of the Screen Actors Guild, the 2023 Survivor Series event stands out to be a significant marker in the wrestling world. It’s a testament of the sheer determination, resilience and tenacity shared by all our favourite WWE superstars.
