During last night’s episode of AEW Dynamite: Beach Break, 16 women were announced for the women’s title eliminator tournament. It was confirmed that NWA Women’s world champion Serena Deeb and Riho will start the first round of the U.S bracket.
In regards to the Japanese side of the bracket, Hikaru Shida is currently spending some time in Japan where she is helping produce the matches. She recently took to Twitter to explain her absence on Dynamite.
Proresu reported that matches on the Japanese side of the bracket will take place in Japan. These matches will be held in empty venues with the eventual winner flying to the US to face whoever the winner of the US bracket is.
Shida actually has a history of producing shows in Japan. She has produced MAKAI projects as well as a YouTube series “NEO IZANAGI”. Here is a tweet of her confirming she is in Japan.
