Jack Evans Reportedly Has Backstage Heat After Match On Dark

The featured match of this past Tuesday’s episode of Dark saw Jack Evans take on Dark Order’s Preston “10” Vance in Singles action. Preston Vance ended up winning the match, but he was bleeding profusely from his mouth and blood could also be seen dripping through his mask.

Vance was in this state due to Jack Evans doing a Phoenix Splash and catching 10 in the face with an elbow.

After the match, Brodie “-1” Lee Jr. entered the ring and did a fist bump to the bloody hand of Vance as originally planned. This reportedly aired just hours after Brodie Lee’s wife, Amanda Huber took to her Instagram account and issued a statement on fans criticizing AEW for how they have been using her son on their shows.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, this was edited out of the original broadcast because people saw Brodie Lee’s son fist bumping a guy covered in blood. The Observer also indicates that the match was not stopped when 10 began to bleed, they in fact went right to the finish, but after it was over, 10 needed work to be done and no word has been given yet on if 10 will miss any in-ring action.

It was also noted that this “bad match” may be the reason why the original broadcast of Tuesday’s AEW Dark was taken down and edited.

Due to what transpired, Jack Evans reportedly got backstage heat from “the people you don’t want heat with” in AEW. Evans did not also appear in the corner of Angelico on Dynamite last Wednesday night on the St. Patrick’s Day Slam special episode when Angelico lost to Rey Fenix in Singles action.

There’s no word yet on if the botched Phoenix Splash had anything to do with Evans not being in the corner of Angelico on Dynamite, but updates will be provided on Jack Evans once it is made available. Evans has been in AEW since 2019. He has often teamed with Angelico as The Hybrid2, but he has also competed in Singles Matches on Dark and Dynamite.
