Planned AEW Dynamite Match Postponed Due To COVID-19 Concerns

Due to COVID-19 concerns, AEW has made some changes to next week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, this will be the second night of New Year’s Smash.

Britt Baker was supposed to wrestle against Thunder Rosa which would have been their first match together since they started feuding these past few weeks. This match was built up nicely and fans were looking forward to seeing how this match will play out but unfortunately, this pandemic has got in the way once again.

This past Wednesday it was announced that Baker would host Cody Rhodes in the waiting room while Serena Deeb attempts to defend her NWA Women’s Championship against Tay Conti on next week’s episode.

Dave Meltzer confirmed these reports in the latest edition of the wrestling observer newsletter. He said that the match was postponed because Rosa had been exposed to someone who had tested positive for COVID-19.

There are still some attractive matches left on the card though. These matches include Darby Allin defending his TNT Championship against Brian Cage and Miro taking on Chuck Taylor.
