TSN In Canada Pushes AEW To Main Channel For December

Back in October TSN announced they would be the Canadian home of AEW Dynamite.

TSN and TSN Direct subscribers can watch the all-new AEW DYNAMITE on Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET on TSN’s digital streaming platforms, including TSN.ca and the TSN app, and on the network’s five national television feeds (subject to final scheduling confirmation). TSN’s AEW DYNAMITE schedule for the month of October is as follows:

• Wednesday, Oct. 2: 8 p.m. ET on TSN.ca, the TSN app, and TSN2
• Wednesday, Oct. 9: 8 p.m. ET on TSN.ca, the TSN app, and TSN2
• Wednesday, Oct. 16: 8 p.m. ET on TSN.ca, the TSN app, and TSN2
• Wednesday, Oct. 23: 8 p.m. ET on TSN.ca, the TSN app, and TSN2
• Wednesday, Oct. 30: 8 p.m. ET on TSN.ca, the TSN app, and TSN3

Due to the success of the show, it looks like things are changing on TSN for the month of December. According to Wrestling Observer Newsletter;

  • AEW beat Smackdown in overall viewers last week.
    • There were no channels changes in Canada to cause this. Both shows are on cable specialty channels (sports).
  • TSN has also moved AEW to their primary channel (TSN1 or TSN) for December

You can see the changes on TSN’s website as well.

The fact that AEW beat Smackdown in the ratings is huge for AEW’s brand. It makes sense for TSN to give them a better channel with more reach.
