Two Huge Stars Ruled Out As AEW’s Devil Character

One of the greatest storylines that All Elite Wrestling has had since their inception back in 2019 is their Devil character, which was first introduced last year at the company’s All Out Event and played by reigning AEW World Champion and one-half of the ROH World Tag Team Champions MJF to ultimately win the AEW World Championship.

The Devil character was not used following that until recently when this person suddenly appeared and attacked “Switchblade” Jay White and reigning AEW World Trios Champions The Acclaimed (Anthony Bowens and Max Caster) and “Daddy Ass” Billy Gunn. According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, there are a bunch of people within All Elite Wrestling that know the identities of the talents that have played the Devil character in the past, but the company has done things extremely well as of late of keeping things quiet.

It was also mentioned on the report that people they have spoken to believe it is not former two-time AEW World Champion CM Punk and it would be a huge work on those in the know if Punk ends up being the Devil. Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D. was another person rumored to be under the mask, but has been ruled out as well. There has been a number of speculations that the person who will be revealed to be the Devil may not even be playing the part right now, which is something the WWE did with the Retribution group years ago.
