It was previously reported that one of AEW’s biggest stars Jade Cargill, who signed a 3-year contract with the company in the fall of 2020, is on her way out of All Elite Wrestling as her deal is up soon and it is expected that Jade will be heading to WWE since she will be free and clear to sign with any promotion she wants. Several people in AEW believe that Cargill is headed to the NXT brand instead of being sent straight to the WWE main roster.
Dave Meltzer mentioned on a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that there was a slim chance Jade Cargill would have stayed with AEW during this past Wednesday night’s tapings of Rampage, but most people were under the impression that her AEW TBS Championship Match against current AEW TBS Champion Kris Statlander was her last match with the promotion.
Meltzer also mentioned that there are those in WWE that believe Cargill will be going straight to the main roster rather than going through developmental, but he could see either scenario happening and if Jade were to go to WWE NXT, then she will be one of the highest paid wrestlers there. Someone did tell Meltzer that the situation with the former AEW Star came out of the blue, but WWE still expected her to sign with the company.
