Reigning Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns is considered by many as one of the greatest, if not the greatest WWE Superstar in the modern era, possibly even of all time. Reigns became the WWE Universal Champion at the WWE Payback Event in August 2020 and has held on to the title since. Reigns would then go on to become the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion and hold on to both championships at last year’s WrestleMania 38, when he defeated then-WWE Champion “The Beast Incarnate” Brock Lesnar in what was dubbed as “The Greatest WrestleMania Match Of All Time.”
Roman has held the Undisputed WWE Universal Title for over 1,120 days, which is something that hasn’t been done since 1988 and a title reign that is recognized as the fifth-longest reign in the company’s history. Reigns’ title reign has lasted longer than WWE legend Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and WWE Hall of Famer “Stone Cold” Steve Austin’s 16 World Title reigns for a combined 1004 days.
Roman has been working a much more reduced schedule since signing a new WWE contract back in 2022 and as previously reported, The Tribal Chief is currently not advertised to compete at the 2024 WWE Royal Rumble Premium Live Event on Saturday, January 27 inside Tropicana Field in Tampa, Florida, but Roman could always be added to the show at a later date.
WWE recently announced, via an email newsletter, that current Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns is set to appear on the October 13th episode of SmackDown from inside the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Other Superstars advertised to appear on the show include 16-time World Champion John Cena, WWE Hall of Famer and WWE United States Champion Rey Mysterio, WWE Women’s Champion IYO SKY, Sheamus, LA Knight, The Street Profits, Bobby Lashley, Charlotte Flair and AJ Styles.
Roman Reigns last competed for WWE at their 2023 SummerSlam Premium Live Event, when he put his title on the line against “Main Event” Jey Uso and he is also scheduled to compete at the 2023 WWE Survivor Series Premium Live Event. As prviously reported, Reigns’ next WWE match will take place on Saturday, November 4th in Saudi Arabia, which means he will return to WWE TV soon leading up to the match as he will be promoting it, but there’s no word yet on when Roman will make his return to WWE TV, though he is also advertised to appear on the October 27th episode of SmackDown in Milwaukee.
