Abadon Injured Throat During AEW Dynamite Tapings, Match Stopped

Earlier this week, All Elite Wrestling taped next week’s episode of AEW Dynamite. One of the matches was Tay Conti vs. Abadon. Dave Meltzer reported on F4WOnline.com that Abadon was seriously injured.

Later on, Wrestling Observer Radio, it was that reported Abadon took an elbow to the throat from Tay Conti, and she wasn’t able to breathe. The match was stopped immediately, and she was sent to the hospital for further evaluation.

Abadon is one of the rising stars of the AEW women’s division. She made her AEW debut in March of this year, after previously wrestling in several Colorado-based independents, including Rocky Mountain Pro Wrestling, where she trained.

She was eventually signed by AEW in June and has wrestled sporadically on Dark, defeating opponents such as KiLynn King, Red Velvet, and Dani Jordyn. Her lone Dynamite match prior to Thursday’s taping was a win over Anna Jay, which aired on the June 17 episode.

Abadon quickly garnered attention for her appearance, in particular her elaborate horror-themed make-up. There is no word on if her match with Conti will air this Wednesday night. Abadon is expected to make a full recovery.
