Cody Says He Has Rights To His Name After Dynamite Ends

As previously reported, WWE filed a cancellation notice with the USPTO (the United States Patent and Trademark Office) last November 2nd, Monday, surrendering the trademark of Cody Rhodes‘ name, which gives Cody Rhodes the full rights to use his name anytime he sees fit.

Immediately after the main event of last night’s episode of AEW Dynamite that saw TNT Champion Cody Rhodes and Gunn Club (Billy Gunn and Austin Gunn) defeat Dark Order (John Silver, 10, and Colt Cabana) in a Six-Man Tag Team Match. Following the match, Cody Rhodes grabbed a mic and spoke to the live crowd in attendance.

Cody first threw some jokes on Billy Gunn that his appearance on Dynamite was his first TV appearance in 30 years. Cody then praised Austin Gunn and gave him huge props on his debut on Dynamite. Cody then confirmed that he now has the full rights to his “Cody Rhodes” name and said that it feels really good to be Cody Rhodes again.

Cody Rhodes will be defending his TNT Title against Darby Allin this Saturday at Full Gear PPV.
