Reason Why Riho Has Not Been Appearing On AEW TV As Of Late

Riho, who is the former and first-ever AEW Women’s World Champion, has not appeared on AEW television as of late, which Meltzer discussed on a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Meltzer said that Riho has not been seen on AEW TV as of late because she has returned to her home country of Japan, but no word has been provided yet on when she will return.

This is not the first time that Riho had been absent from AEW TV in the past year or so as she wasn’t on AEW TV as well this past year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As soon as the travel restrictions for the COVID-19 pandemic were eased up a bit, there was still the issue of the AEW Star having to travel back and forth from the United States to Japan that the promotion had to deal with as Riho will be in quarantine for two weeks when she leaves Japan and then another two weeks when she decides to go back to Japan.

Last January, there were reports that Riho will be heading back to AEW, and she did return to compete at the AEW Women’s Title Eliminator Tournament. Riho last competed for AEW on March 18, 2020 when she competed in a 4-Way Match along with Hikaru Shida, Kris Statlander and Penelope Ford.
