Jericho Reveals Former NXT Taynara Conti Part Of AEW Tag Team Cup

During last night’s Chris Jericho’s “Saturday Night Special” streamed on YouTube, the Le Champion let out some spoilers about the AEW Women’s Tag Team Cup Tournament. Including two teams yet to be announced. One includes a former WWE NXT star.

Jericho said that former WWE NXT star Taynara Conti would team with Anna Jay in a match against Nyla Rose and former WWE Superstar Cameron, now know as Ariane Andrew. He said some of the matches were taped this past week. He also said the tournament would include women we haven’t been seen “for a while,” and that hasn’t been given a chance to shine.

The Le Champion was surprised at the work put in by the women and said fans would enjoy the matches.

“I was really surprised. There was a match, Nyla Rose and Arianne Andrew against Ty Conti and Ana Jay, and I did not know what to expect for this because a lot of the girls don’t have experience.”

“Ty, I’m not sure how many matches she just had, I know she was with NXT. And Ariane, we haven’t seen Ariane in a few years now since she was one of the Funkadactyls. Anna Jay’s super green and even Nyla’s fairly green, so I didn’t know what to expect, but I watched this match, and all four girls just kicked ass. It was really good, way bigger, way better than I expected. I’m not saying that in a mean way either, they really impressed me, all of them, and hopefully, we’ll get to see more of them.”

Jericho also said Ivelisse and Diamante would be teaming along with Brandi Rhodes and Allie. AEW already announced the Rhodes and Allie pairing.

The first-ever AEW Women’s Tag Team Cup Tournament starts Monday, and we be on YouTube only every Monday. As noted on AEW Dynamite, the teams will be randomly paired, so some enemies will be forced to team together. It should be a fun thing to watch to go along with Dynamite and AEW Dark.

We will have a full recap of the AEW Women’s Tag Team Cup Tournament after it is released.
