AEW Dark Results (06/09): Jon Moxley vs. Robert Anthony

This week’s episode of AEW Dark opens up with Excalibur and “The Human Suplex Machine” Taz welcoming the fans to another edition of the show.

Commentary then runs down the card for tonight’s show, which includes AEW World Champion Jon Moxley vs. Robert Anthony as the main event of the evening. Taz then says that he will be keeping a close eye on that match as his client, Brian Cage, faces Moxley for the title at Fyter Fest.

We then get the first match of the evening, which is a Tag Team Match between SCU (Frankie Kazarian and Scorpio Sky) and Low Rider and Fuego Del Sol.

We then head backstage where “The Exalted One” Brodie Lee addresses Alan Angels, now known as 5. Lee welcomes him to the Dark Order and says that he hopes he’ll make him proud.

The next match of the evening is a Singles Match between The Dark Order’s “5” and Lee Johnson.

The Dark Order’s “5” def. Lee Johnson in a Singles Match. After the match, “5” throws Lee Johnson into “10,” who rocks Johnson with a pump kick. They then continue to attack Lee Johnson as Brodie Lee watches with a huge smile on his face.

The next match of the evening is a Tag Team Match between Proud ‘N’ Powerful (Santana and Ortiz) and Musa and Brady Pierce.

We then head backstage where QT Marshall approaches Dustin Rhodes and Brandi Rhodes. QT Marshall then tells Dustin Rhodes that they are no longer working a tag match because he needs the ring time according to Allie. He then hands them the t-shirts that Allie designed for the Natural Nightmares. Brandi Rhodes then curses QT Marshall out.

The next match of the evening is a Tag Team Match between The Butcher and The Blade (Andy Williams and Pepper Parks) and Anthony Catena and Suge D.

The next match of the evening is a Singles Match between QT Marshall and Zack Clayton.

AEW World Champion Jon Moxley def. Robert Anthony in a Non-Title Match. After the match, Taz congratulates Moxley on his victory but asks how he will be able to last against Cage when an unknown like Anthony can hang around for a little too long. Excalibur then claims that Moxley proved he was a champion by still getting the job done on an opponent he didn’t have too much time to plan for. Cage and Moxley then stare each other down as the show comes to a close.
