Schedule Update On AEW’s Women’s Title Eliminator Tournament

As previously reported, the Quarterfinal Match between Thunder Rosa and Riho in All Elite Wrestling’s Women’s Championship Eliminator Tournament is set to air for free on Bleacher Report Sunday, February 28th. The report also states that aside from the Thunder Rosa vs. Riho Match, there will be about two or three matches on the special show, which includes the finals of the Japanese side of AEW’s Women’s Title Eliminator Tournament.

Speaking of the Japanese side of AEW’s Women’s Title Tournament, Aja Kong is set to face Ryo Mizunami and Yuka Sakazaki is set to take on Emi Sakura in Second Round action, which will air later on today, February 22nd at 7PM ET on AEW’s YouTube channel and will mark the conclusion of the semifinals round of the Japanese side of the bracket.

Dave Meltzer revealed on a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Radio the updated schedule of the AEW Women’s Title Eliminator Tournament. On the U.S. side of the bracket, Tay Conti is set to take on Nyla Rose and Dr. Britt Baker is set to battle Anna Jay in First Round action, which is set to air on AEW’s YouTube channel later on today as well. The winners of Tay Conti vs. Nyla Rose and Anna Jay vs. Britt Baker will then compete on Dynamite. The finals of the U.S. side of the bracket will end on the official YouTube channel of AEW as well.

The winner of the Japanese side of the bracket will travel to the U.S. to face the winner of the U.S. side of the bracket, which we will see on the March 3rd episode of Dynamite. The Women’s Championship Eliminator Tournament winner will then move on to take on AEW Women’s World Champion Hikaru Shida for her AEW Women’s World Championship at the Revolution PPV.

Meltzer also noted that the Bleacher Report show is being done to further push the AEW Revolution PPV set to take place on March 7th as this is the first PPV AEW will hold on a Sunday and it has a larger audience reach. Meltzer then noted that the Bleacher Report show will allow the matches to run longer as opposed to a shorter one on Dynamite.
